She did so after getting foot surgery just days before.
The shoes are currently on sale for just $30.

Going to a red carpet event like the 77th Annual Tony Awards usually means wearing a gorgeous gown and heels. But actress Brooke Shields had toe surgery a few days before the big event—so she wore a pair of Crocs instead.

The 59-year-old posed for photos on the red carpet at the Tonys in a yellow gown with a sequined top, waistline bow, and pleated skirt, accessorizing the look with matching Crocs. In snaps from the event, she hilariously made a shocked face while showing off the clog footwear.

Brooke wore her Crocs in Relaxed Mode, with the heel strap up.

Turns out, Brooke had “double foot toe surgery” just days before, she revealed in a June 15 Instagram.

“The feet pics are about to level up,” she joked in her caption, which showed off both of her feet in special boots. Naturally, heels weren’t really an option for the event.

“I got my Crocs! I couldn’t do this in heels!” she told People on the carpet. In a video later shared to her Instagram Stories, the Pretty Baby star told Vulture her Crocs “are the right color, so…it’s perfect.” (It’s true—they’re an exact match.)

Brooke has mixed Crocs with a dressy look in the past. Back in 2008, she was spotted by paparazzi wearing hot pink Crocs under a matching maxi gown. And back then—just like now—she pulled it off effortlessly.

Given just how comfortable Crocs are and how perfect they are for summer, it’s understandable to want to snap up a pair for yourself. Well, right now Amazon is having a sale on adult Crocs.
